Racz Catheter

Under fluoroscopic guidance, a catheter is inserted through the caudal canal into the epidural space near to or in the adhesion scar tissue or epidural fibrosis. This scarring is often seen in patients with previous back surgery, herniated disc, traumatic and non-traumatic vertebral body compression fractures or epidural scarring as a result of an infection. A solution of local anesthetic and steroid is injected.
