The Stellate ganglion consists of the fusion of the inferior cervical and first thoracic sympathetic ganglion. This is located in the neck on the antero-lateral aspect of the body of C-6, C-7 and T-1. This block is primarily used to treat complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) I and II or RSD and causalgia, shingles or other neuropathic pain syndromes in the upper extremities, neck and face.
